When we were approached by a planner to help her create a fabulous swing dance theme look for a historic dance hall here in Dallas, we jumped at it! Her client was celebrating her 40th birthday and wanted to have a night of dancing with her closest friends and family.
When we first went for the site visit, the ballroom space was bare with just a huge wooden dance floor and stage and that was about it. The planner knew that she wanted to bring in chairs and tables for a more upscale look than the venue could provide. We did that and then of course topped it all off with a bold red and black color scheme with pops of gold. We covered the guest tables in red linen and brought in black chiavari chairs. Each round had a towering feather centerpiece with hanging crystal accents. The cocktail tables were covered in gold sequin linen with a mini black cabaret lamp on each. The remainder of the room was glowing with red up-lighting and a custom gobo projection on the dance floor. Lastly, we brought in red velvet drape and red rope and stanchion for that ultimate VIP feel.
